The Endless Empty + Life Update

Last month, I received a gift from my best friend. The gift being The Endless Empty, a videogame. A few entries ago, on this post, I mentioned wanting to try it. By the way, the reason I received said game was because it was my birthday. Thank you for the present, Drad!

And so, I played it. It was... interesting. I certainly had fun with it. I especially enjoyed the characters 'Anxiety' and 'Trigger Finger'.

This is not a review, however. I just wanted to share some screenshots I took, and give a general life update. Let's begin with the screenshots (you can click on the images to get a better view).

As you can see, it has got an interesting design direction. I believe it was great in that sense. Although the story did not resonate with me that much, it was the characters that made the journey enjoyable. Now, onto the life update!

I am not doing so great, which is probably why I am writing on this blog today. Writing can be incredibly therapeutic to me. Lately, I have been physically weak. And mentally, I am recovering from anxiety. I thought I had overcome my anxiety episodes—I had strong ones about two years ago—but it seems like recovery is a slow process. I am doing much better than before, of course, but there is still work to be done.

Every time I feel anxious, it has repercussions on my body, especially on my stomach. When I feel fear and anxiety, I get nauseous every time I eat. It may be my favourite dish, but I still feel bad. Even water makes me feel queasy. I struggled with this some years ago, and it made life quite miserable. The condition improved as my mental state became more stable, though.

The answer is obvious, then. I must work on my mental health in order to keep my body in a good condition. I do not want to feel this way, so I will do my best to improve.

A couple of months ago, I tried breathing exercises, and they did wonders. They reminded me of the time I used to meditate daily. I think I should do that more often. That being said, I would like to take a nice, warm shower and relax for the day. I hope you enjoyed the screenshots and the little life update.

Until the next one. My very best wishes,

Shad.
